EPICENTER 2017 survival guide; All you need to know

Hailed as one of the most incredible experiences outside of a major by players, and received by fans around the world with equal enthusiasm, EPICENTER 2017 is must watch event.

Only three teams from each group (six total) will emerge from the battle to advance to the main event playoff stage. Four teams will never step foot on the main stage and end their journey behind closed doors.

The temperatures are rising - getting dangerously near a boiling point for teams with the pressure intensifying as only one team will be crowned the victor.

EPICENTER 2017 Participating Teams:

Reigning Champions Team Liquid will be on hand to defend their title. The European team edged out Newbee 3:2 in an intense and dramatic series last year when they seized their first major LAN championship title. Not only is their pride, title and reputations on the line, their ticket to TI7 may also be at stake here. The team has yet to claim a title this season, taking first at StarLadder iLeague StarSeries season 3, followed by a less than optimal 5-8th place at the Kiev Major.

Team Secret's tumultuous past and inconsistent results has not been kind to the European based team. Their near last place results in the two biggest events in the previous months - 9-16th place at Kiev Major and 7-8th place at Manila Masters have been devastating. TI7 regional qualifiers are knocking on their door right now and only a championship title here will be their saving grace.

Clutch Gamers' recent run in with the visa patrol has denied them an appearance at the Summit 7, the final LAN that could have granted the team the much coveted TI7 invite. The SEA team has been the rising stars of the region and making waves around the world. Their first LAN performance was met with excitement and applause, but the team's inexperience at LAN events played against them at Manila Masters and the team took 7-8th place at the end. They will need to work extra hard, making significant strides here in Moscow to prove their worth on the international circuit.

With an overwhelming victory and landslide turnout, Na'Vi won the fan vote for EPICENTER 2017. The local heroes will be front and center in front of the home crowd as they fight for not only a place on the main stage, but a TI7 invite. The Ukrainian based team has been showing solid and steady improvements over the course of the season and have many of their loyal fans hyped about their new potential.

Knockout and spectacular performances are always a highlight of events with Virtus.Pro and Invictus Gaming. The CIS team is standing on the precipice of greatness - touting their recent success and solid results in a bold way. Invictus Gaming has been praised as a Chinese revival and resurgence. Whie VP will have one last shot at a title via a win at Summit 7, both teams are expected to be aiming very high and putting all of their chips in at the event - signing, sealing and delivering a clear message of being a prime cut team.

LGD Forever Young are the dark horse of the event, having quietly qualified and playing out their season with little to none notable achievements.

OG, and Evil Geniuses are expected to receive direct invitations to TI7 based on being the Boston/Kiev Majors and Manila Masters champions respectively. Planet Odd are also hopeful to receive the invite and nod from Valve. Without a defending TI team this year after Wings disbanded, the runner up, NA based team may be pretty high on the short list despite a very quiet season and a 9-16th place result at Kiev Major.
