The Weekly Flashback: TSM's rise

Today we look back at Danish side Team SoloMid and their amazing rise to the top, after changing organzations.

On 25th of January, the former roster of Dignitas switched organizations, after deciding not to renew their contracts with Dignitas. They were picked up by Team SoloMid, an organization famous for its legendary League Of Legends squad. They also decided against keeping their former IGL Henrik "Fetish" Christensen and brought in Finn "Karrigan" Andersen from Mousesports.

Today unfortunately we have to say goodbye to our Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup. The players have decided not to renew their contracts at the end of the month and will be joining Team SoloMid from February 1st. - Dignitas

A team's success is definitely based on the matches they play. On the 9th of February, they played their debut match, in 99Damage Masters, under Team SoloMid's name. Team SoloMid played a wonderful game, beating Team Orbit 2 to 0, on Inferno and Mirage. They played the next match against their previous organzation, Dignitas and won again, producing the same result against them.

Even though the Danish side did not win anything for more than 2 months , they remained faithful to one another, neither leaving or removing anyone. This proved to be a great decision as now, they hold 4th place on the world rankings, with the same roster since Day 1!

On the 26th of April, their efforts finally payed off as they took the PGL Champions Series and a huge share of the prize pool, $40,000. They showed consistent results throughout the tournament, beating heavy favorites Ninjas in Pyjamas and fnatic 2 to 0 in the upper bracket. Then came the finals, they were up against fnatic in a B05, picking it up with a swift 3 to 1 scoreline, the one map lead that they were rewarded with for being in the upper bracket, proved to be useful.

Next came a series of important matches, worse still the matches were against strong teams. The first match was against Dignitas, proving to be dominant, taking the match 2 to 0. After, it was a hard time for them, playing against seasoned teams, Natus Vincere and Virtus.Pro. They lost 3 matches, 2 against Natus Vincere and 1 against Virtus.Pro. However the next few games were phenomenal, Team SoloMid had another match against Natus Vincere, taking the game 2 to 1. Next, they had to play fnatic, the Number 1 team in the world. Even though they had a mountain to climb, they showed that nothing was impossible, beating the Swedish team with an amazing 2-0 scoreline. Again with same circumstances, they faced fan favorites NiP, however TSM impressed the world, beating NiP.

Thus, TSM showed the world what they were made of, pure individual talent and beautiful team chemistry. TSM cemented their name into people's brains, again performing in Fragbite Masters Season 4 taking 24,000 Euros home, after beating fnatic 3-1 in the finals.

Winning against experienced and seasoned players and teams, snatching tournaments from favourites, Team SoloMid rised to the top.
