Ten teams are set for the Wild Rift Horizon Cup

As the year quickly draws to a close, the League of Legends: Wild Rift Horizon Cup will fill our November with some fantastic action.

A short time ago we had confirmation of a Wild Rift tournament which would incorporate teams from all around the globe. With the recent Southeast Asia Championships, we saw two teams from the region secure their spots at this prestigious international event. Now, with little over a month left before the Horizon Cup kicks off, all 10 competing teams have been confirmed.

The Teams

  • Da Kun Gaming (China)
  • ThunderTalk Gaming (China)
  • KT Rolster (South Korea)
  • SBTC Esports (Vietnam)
  • Team Secret (Philippines)
  • Team Queso (Spain)
  • Tribe Gaming NA (North America)
  • Sengoku Gaming (Japan)
  • TSM (Brazil)
  • eBro Gaming (Argentina)

These 10 teams, after fighting through tournaments in their regions, have managed to come out ahead of the rest and will be part of the first Horizon Cup. While this is not labeled as “Worlds” for Wild Rift, the culmination of the League of Legends year, this event falls into the same category, pitting the best from around the world against one another as we go in search of an international Wild Rift champion.

The Prize

While glory is always at stake, as well as national pride, the Horizon Cup has so much more, with a massive prize pool of $500,000 on offer. The event is also set to take place offline, which means that all 10 teams will be playing from the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore. For now, it remains to be seen whether a crowd will be allowed, with COVID-19 continuing to cause chaos around the world – but even without an audience, we can be assured that Riot Games will give us an epic event.

The dates

The Horizon Cup is set to kick off on November 13 and will run through to November 21, with both a Group stage and Playoff stage to get through. At the time of writing, the tournament format and schedule has not been confirmed, and we will have more news on that when the information becomes available. We are excited to see Wild Rift’s first ever international event and crown a champion which will be written into the history books.
