NGL-ONE presented drastic changes today to its former league system. Continuing the focus on solo play, the next season will switch to a complete solo league for 24 players with a prize purse of $17,500.

NGL follow in the footsteps of WC3L, and listen to the recent changes in eSport teams. It seems like team leagues in former fashion is but a memory in the WarCraft 3 world. The new NGL-ONE eyeball will instead be a solo league, where eight players will be given a direct invite to the league, while twelve will fight their way in through a qualifier. The remaining four spots will be voted in by the community.

"By this system of invitation, qualification and voting we want to ensure that the players you like to see in the competition and that you feel deserve to play for the NGL title will get their chance to compete in our brand-new professional gaming competition," can be read in the press release.

The NGL ONE WarCraft III 1on1 competition consists of twelve match days, where the combatants play two opponents per match day. The eight top ranked players will qualify for an offline event. These eight players will receive $500 and full accomodation for the finals. The top three placings will divide the complete prize pool of $17,500.

Having decided to keep the team competition alive, NGL will host a 3on3 league with $3,000 in prize money, and will unlike the 1on1 league be held fully online. "We decided to keep the team competition alive for interested teams but know that, due to the changes, the target group will change to semi-professional and casual teams," is said in the press release.

The NGL-ONE team league grand finals with SK-Gaming, MeetYourMakers and mTw.AMD will take place this weekend.
