Creolophus sharing his thoughts at DreamHack

Among the thousands of Swedes, the group of Koreans and the few Danes, we found one Norwegian. He is playing for 4 Kings, he is using Night-elf and his name is Creolophus.

You got to the semi finals quickest of everyone - how was the competition on your way through?
- Because of the seeding my first games were rather easy, but today I played konna and sase as well. 2nd game vs konna I had a good start, but was a bit unprepared for his attack so it kinda close. Vs Sase both games were really tight, but it turned out the good way in the end.

The reason why I was quickly finished was that I didn't bring my own pc so I had to borrow fury's, thus trying to play as many of the games as possible before I removed my equipment again.

You have not yet played any of the Koreans, but you will in some later rounds. How do you feel about playing the MYM Koreans?
- My next opponent will probably be lucifer, who's maybe the opponent I have the most trouble with of those here at dreamhack. Moon, Lucifer and Susiria are all very good so it's going to be difficult to get to the top at this tournament. Won't be enough to just get lucky a game or two. However I think it will be really good practise, and even if the results turn out bad I'll get some more ideas before the upcoming wc3l finals. There are also many other good players here, and I was kind of surprised of the amount of players coming here as the prizes aren't that great compared to many other tournaments.

You won the tournament back in Summer 2005 - how would you compare your previous time here with this one?
- Last time I was here was mainly because it was decided that the Norwegian ESWC qualifiers would be here at this event in Sweden (not many netcafés that can have qualifiers in Norway). In the ESWC qualifier it was only me and sk.dominator attending, and in the end I won 3-0 so domi cut his hair and didn't bother about more tournaments after that =)

The similarities to last time was that I didn't have a pc with me then either so I just had to lend a pc from fellow gamers and that it was a great time both then and now.

To compare it to the Norwegian lan The Gathering with 5k people; there's more space here at dreamhack (not just one big hall). More space is a lot better, everything isn't as crowded and the gamers doesn't necessarily have to sit next to the people playing all kinds of annoying songs on maximum volume -_-

Hehe, ok. Many people we've talked to so far has been a little annoyed about the chairs and the tables. Is that something you agree on? Is there something at DreamHack that could be better?
- The tables and chairs are not ideal and kind of far away of what most gamers are used to at other events. However, it's really hard to do it otherwise when the whole event is so big with this many people. The best that could be done is to have more of the games played on compo-pc's with better chairs and tables at the last day when the seeded players start meeting each other.

Good point. So what was your expectations of the DreamHack tournament? When you first saw who was playing, what was your reaction? Was there any major names you didn't have a clue was coming?
- When I first bought ticket for dreamhack I had no idea that other players than the Swedish would participate. Since it was a pretty long trip for me I considered not going even after I had gotten my hands on a ticket. When I saw all the players attending the tournament I was glad that I didn't decide to skip it, as being at tournaments with good players is pure fun.

There's not much joy playing against "weak" opponents, even if it's easy money in the end.

Ok so look at the current bracket, who's left and who's out - what do you think the top three would look like? Where do you think you will end yourself? What is your expectations on yourself?
- I think the top three most likely will consist of Moon, Lucifer and Susiria. I think I'm more of an outsider as the Korean ud's play a bit different compared to what I usually practice against, so I'm a bit insecure of how the games will turn out.

I don't really set any expectations for myself - I know I won't be happy no matter if I lose in the first round or the last round. In the end it's just about doing the best you can and concentrating about what you want to do, instead of what you want to achieve.

Ok, thanks a lot for your time. Good luck in the tournament and all!
- Thanks!
