The tournament that was one of the main reasons so many players came to DreamHack Summer 2006 was because of the World Series of Video Games stop. The tournament was won by SK.Deadman, after defeating SaSe in the Grand Final.
World Series of Video Games is a new, big international event not unlike the kind of tournament Cyperathlete Professional League (CPL) is, with world stops at various events. Already, there have been two qualifiers - both held last week.
At DreamHack, a total of 32 players were present, where six of them were from another country than Sweden. Top players participating such as
mouz.SaSe, 
MYM]Susiria, 
SK.Deadman and 
4K^Zeus went to Jönköping in Sweden, some having a lot far than the others. And apart from the 9,000 USD prize money spread out on the Top 3, the winner and the runner-up gets qualified for the WSVG Grand Final, with paid travel and lodgings.

After a long tournament, double elimination, a winner was finally crowned. On the big stage, shoutcasted by
RandomNE and Enrique, the DreamHack participants got to see the Russian Night Elf player SK.Deadman defeat the Swedish Senitel mouz.SaSe in the Grand Final with 2-1.
