WEG Masters 2006 in China is the hottest going tournament right now. Playday 3 was just finished, and we only have four matches left in the group play. Earlier today, Grubby and Moon took a win each.
Eight players, divided in two groups. That's the format in WEG Masters 2006. Two players from each group advances, and so far there are two players who won both their matches - MYM]Moon and WE.IGE.Sky. However, four matches are left, and everything can happen. For instance, if Sweet defeats Sky in the next round and Grubby also wins, they all end up at 2-1 in score. Same thing in the other group - if ToD beats Moon and GoStop beats xiaOt there will be three with 2-1 score as well. We'll find out at Friday, which is when the two first matches start. Close match between Grubby and Sweet
The playday 3 matches were played just a couple of hours ago, where we first got to see a really exciting match at first between Grubby and Sweet (picture), a match where our GousBetters were almost totally even (51-49 to Grubby). Grubby took the first game, but after a great comeback by Sweet after losing his main base, he evened out the score to 1-1. The third game was won by Grubby, and thereby has 1-1 in wins/losses.Dual WEG winner Moon takes down xiaOt
Moon proved that he was indeed one of the top favourites in winning this season. He has won WEG twice, and really wants another master title. He went up against the Orc player wNv.xiaOt (picture), considered by many the weakest player in this tournament. Moon took him down 2-0, and now sits comfortable in his group, leading with a 2-0 score.
