WCG05 WC3: WE.Sky wins!

The Chinese Human player WE.Sky took home the championship title of World Cyber Games 2005! In the Grand Final he defeated Shortround 2-0. First map Sky won by towering. Second map Shortround tried to tower back, but failed and Sky won again! And Grubby had to settle for third place this year.

$20,000 sure is a feisty sum of money to take home to China. The Human player Sky from World Elite won the World Cyber Games 2005, and is therefore written in the club of champions, alongside with Insomnia and Grubby. In the Grand Final, Sky was up against the American Night Elf player Shortround from Mousesports BenQ.GeiL. In a best of three match, Sky took two straight wins, first by a nice tower attack on Shortround. The second match, Shortround wanted revenge and tried the same thing, but failed. Sky defended himself well and won the match over the American, and was thereby crowned the WCG 2005 champion in WC3!

Grubby takes third place

And the match for third prize stood between the two team mates Grubby (picture) and ToD, both from Four Kings. Grubby was defeated by Shortround in the semi-final, while ToD had troubles with Sky and lost. And just as many years before, the two friends ToD and Grubby were on in a hot best of three match, Human versus Orc, the classic. After three intense matches, Grubby stood as the winner with 2-1, and received his second WCG medal (Gold 2004) - the bronze.
