What to watch this week in VALORANT: VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai

This week in VALORANT, VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai starts on May 23rd, and twelve teams will compete for the all-important VCT points.

The VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Masters Shanghai is already on the horizon and will accompany us for three weeks. After a brief respite in the middle of the month, it's time for action again for all the players. 

Twelve teams from four regions will duke it out for the $1,000,000 USD prize pool and the all-important VCT Points to secure their place in the Champions, and first-seed teams will go directly to the playoff stage. The four teams are 100 Thieves from the Americas, Fnatic from the EMEA, Paper Rex from the Pacific, and EDward Gaming from China.

Meanwhile, the other eight teams will compete in the tournament's Swiss stage, with the second-seeded meeting the third-seeded for the first stage series. Whichever team gets two wins will proceed to the playoff stage.

Here is the schedule for the first series of the tournament (All times are in CEST):

For the second series of the tournament, all eight teams will meet again, this time using the win-loss ratio as a determiner. Two teams will eliminated from the competition in this series, while two will proceed to the playoff stage.

• 3rd (1-0) Team vs 4th (1-0) Team - May 25th, 2024 13:00 CEST
• 1st (0-1) Team vs 2nd (0-1) Team - May 26th, 2024 10:00 CEST
• 3rd (0-1) Team vs 4th (0-1) Team - May 26th, 2024 13:00 CEST

The last series of the tournament will be between the teams with a 1-1 scoreline. As with the second series, two teams will be eliminated from the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Masters Shanghai, while the other two will proceed.
