FUT Esports took the last playoffs spot in Group B.
The last match in Group B saw a rematch of FUT Esports and T1. The two teams initially duked it out in the opening match where FUT Esports got the better of T1. It happened again.
FUT Esports ended T1’s VALORANT Champions 2023 tournament run after a clean 2-0 sweep. T1 succumbed to the firepower of FUT Esports as they failed to chalk up a map win.
Both games were closely fought but FUT Esports always proved to be the better team. T1 had to tap out of the tournament without winning a single map.
The first half of Game 1 was a lightweight for FUT Esports. They show some early aggression and dictated the pace of the game. T1 had a hard time finding value on their picks as FUT Esports pushed them back to the edge. The first half eventually ended with a 10-2 score in favor of FUT Esports.
T1 finally answered back in the defending side as their individual playstyles gelled together seamlessly. It took three rounds before FUT Esports scored their first win as attackers. With only two round wins needed to close the game, it was difficult for T1 to come back from the deficit. FUT Esports successfully claimed the first game with a 13-10 score.
T1 and FUT Esports brought their A-games in the second game. Both teams were hungry for victory. T1 was desperate to push for Game 3 while FUT Esports wanted to close the game in a clean sweep.
The first half of the game looked like it can go either way as both teams proved their mettle. FUT Esports was able to put their team at an advantage with a 7-5 score.
T1 was quick to retaliate as they took the first two round wins and tied up the score. Meanwhile, FUT Esports answered back with three of their own. FUT Esports tried to push for match point but a key performance by Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok served as the lifeline for T1.
The exceptional Ace performance propelled the team as they successfully pushed for overtime. However, FUT Esports were not having it as they immediately took the two rounds of overtime.
T1 had to tap out of the tournament as FUT Esports claimed the last ticket to the playoffs stage.
