Bilibili Gaming becomes the second Chinese team to qualify for VCT Champions playoffs

China has two representatitves at the playoffs in VCT Champions.

In another highly-anticipated rematch from the opening series of Group C at VCT Champions, it was Bilibili Gaming who once again emerged victorious against NRG, this time eliminating them from the tournament. And for the second time in the tournament, this was BLG's second 2-0 victory against the VCT Americas League second seed.

And with that loss, NRG are the final team to be eliminated from the group stage as well as the second team from the Americas League to be shown the door. As for BLG, they are one of only three teams that made it to the playoffs at its VCT Champions debut.

Unlike the first series which was a very tight contest between the two teams, the second meeting showcased BLG's true capabilities. Even with NRG being masters of revenge matches, BLG proved just why they deserved to go through. The first map of Bind was chosen by NRG but it was BLG who took a quick 3-0 lead in the match.

NRG responded by taking five straight rounds of their own, which ensured that they are not going to go down without a fight. In the last for rounds, both teams would take two apiece to make it 7-5 in favour of NRG at the break. They would go on to extend their lead to 9-5 after taking the first two rounds in the second half.

However, BLG managed to bounce back and proceeded to dominante in the next six rounds to put them just two more points away from securing game one. NRG would get one back to make it 10-11 in their favour but it was put to bed after a one-versus-two clutch from Lei "yosemite" Wang to put BLG on match-point and then took the first map in the following round.

BLG's pick of Ascent for map two showcased further proof of the team's potential, taking eight of the 12 rounds in the first half after going back and forth with NRG. Unfortunately, the second half was much worse for NRG as BLG had total control from the restart, winning five of the next six rounds to take the series in another convimcing 2-0 fashion.
