VCT Champions Berlin Semifinals: Acend and Gambit book their places in the grand final

The final round of Champions Berlin will be a showdown between Europe and Russia.

After many rounds in the VCT 2021 circuit, we are just one more match away from seeing who will be the winner of the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021. The final two teams vying for the trophy were decided through the semifinal matches, where one team faced minimal resistance, while the other had to work extra hard to grab its respective victory.

Acend vs Team Liquid

The showdown between the two EMEA representatives started with Bind, where Acend easily showed their dominance over the other European team. Acend took control in the first half, with a 4-points lead, and easily grabbed the needed 5 points in the second half to win the map and the point.

In the second map, Split, the domination of Acend over Team Liquid was total as they scored 11-1 in the first half, and the match ended after only 18 rounds with a 13-5 win.

Acend won 2-0.

Gambit Esports vs KRÜ Esports

Gambit, meanwhile, saw fierce competition facing KRU esports as both teams worked hard to keep themselves in the competition. In the first map, Breeze, KRU lead the map in the first half, but Gambit managed to recover and clawed back enough points to win 13-8. KRU again showed good form in the second map, Ascent. In this case, they managed to carry that momentum to win against Gambit 13-7.

In the last map, Bind, both teams played to a tie at the end of the map and pushed the match into extended time. In the extended time rounds, both teams were neck and neck in their performance, but Gambit managed to find that extra gusto and grabbed the needed points for them to win the extended time.

Gambit Esports won 2-1.

The grand final will be a showdown between two big names. Acend is a rising star in EMEA’s VALORANT scene, while Gambit Esports comes in as the previous winner of Masters Berlin. The two teams will be looking to see who will be hefting the trophy at the grand finale round, and the $300,000 prize money alongside the title of VCT Champions 2021.
