A Viewers Guide to the Reddit Championship

In preparation for the Overwatch League, we are happy to help the amateur scene shape up in collaboration with /r/Overwatch and Matcherino.

While the Closed Beta promise of reddit (that they would be way better than the first pro players) didn't come to fruition, everyone can agree on one fact. There is still a lot of undiscovered talent that only requires a few chances to steal the spotlight and break through into the pro scene.

With the Overwatch League expected to feature a certain kind of player drafting, any initiative to help the amateur crowd is a valuable one. This is why we were happy to help the Overwatch reddit with hosting their Amateur Reddit Championship, supported by Matcherino.

In the next few days, you will be able to tune in and watch both amateur players and new casting talent provide you with some entertaining matches.

When

EU Bracket - Today, 9 AM PST/noon EST/18:00 CET
NA Bracket - Tomorrow, noon PST/3 PM EST/21:00 CET

Stream

The list of teams can be found here, both for the EU version that is played today and the NA equivalent scheduled for tomorrow. The bracket will soon go live there as well:

No professional teams were allowed to enter, so you won't see the familiar faces show up. Nevertheless, close matches are always exciting and this opportunity might offer very different compositions and matches.
