Protocol Sombra v1.95 will be completed later today

The amomentincrime counter will soon reach 100%, meaning the probable end of the Sombra ARG.

ARG stands for alternate reality game, and this online treasure hunt has kept some parts of the Overwatch community busy for months now. What started as a clue in the original Ana Trailer back in July, quickly became a game of cat and mouse with the developers. For the full Sombra ARG history we direct you to this excellently maintained wiki page.

The final major clue kicked off a countdown on the 24th of August which will soon reach 100%. We hope and believe that this will be the end to the ARG and trigger the official announcement of Sombra. While the ARG was fun when progress was still being made, many a fan lost interest and even became annoyed when the hunt took longer and longer, losing pace along the way. Nevertheless, we really do hope Blizzard will make a video of their point of view on the whole ARG.

Not too long ago, right before the Halloween patch arrived, a separate leak was discovered with direct references to and even a picture of the person we believe is called Sombra.  The leak stated several important details:

  • Sombra is a world class hacker, who lost everything during the Omnic Crisis
  • She has worked with the Los Muertos gang, the one most of you will know from Soldier:76's Animated Short
  • She was recruited by Talon, the evil organization and counterpart of Overwatch

She will bring a great amount of character depth, as we have grown accustomed to with Overwatch, and we expect her influence to the metagame to be equally significant. http://amomentincrime.com/ is expected to reach 100% around 11:45 PDT/14:45 EDT/19:45 CEST, so keep an eye out on social media during that time. For now, we will leave you with the potential look of Sombra:
