Yesterday we kicked off the Overkill tournament on the European server. Today North America follows suit.
The first match kicks off at 17 PDT (20 EDT) and will feature the team currently leading our GosuRankings, Cloud9, against the newly aquired Team Liquid.
Cloud9: Adam, deBett, Surefour, Greggo, Reaver, KyKy
Team Liquid: Mesrawr, azk, DaHang, veee, Frisco, Dummy
Time: Wednessday, 13th April 2012 - 17 PDT

Prediction: ”Team Liquid is the clear underdog in this matchup. Both previous meetings between the teams were won by Cloud9. I don‘t expect this game to go any different. Cloud9 have been playing together for a longer time period and they have the experience to see this match through.?”
Following their match against Cloud9, Team Liquid will take on Luminosity. This will certainly be an interesting encounter, as Luminosity will want to show everyone that their last result was just an outlier, while Team Liquid will want to show the community that their new organisation was right in putting faith into them.

Prediction: ”The matchup of the two underdogs in this group. I have not been impressed much by Luminosity as of late. While they are overall the more individually skilled team, I do believe that Team Liquid can take this map, at least if they avoid King of the Hill maps and focus on more teamplay oriented maps.?.?”
The third match will be the highly anticipated return to competitive action of EnVyUs. They are out to prove to everyone that they are still one of the top teams in the scene, while Cloud9 want to formally assert dominance over at least the North American region by beating the former American top team in an official match.

Prediction: ”The highlight of the night. The most successful team of the first Beta phase in EnVyUs phases off against the team currently holding the top spot in our GosuRankings, Cloud9. This match could go either way, but I‘m giving Cloud9 the edge as they played more competitve matches than EnVyUs as of late.?”
For the last match of the night Luminosity takes on EnVyUs. This match will be a battle between the scenes. Team Fortress 2 veterans facing off against the niche game experts.

Prediction: ”This is the first competitive showing for EnVyUs in a fairly long time. I‘d rate Luminosity to be probably the weakest teams out of the four North American participants, so given normal circumstances EnVyUs should be able to take this. However, almost as interesting as the match itself are going to be the lineups. Luminosity removed Harbleu from the lineup while EnVyUs tried replacing budSs with Taimou. Since the latter re-joined IDDQD we will see two lineups playing with a surprise sixth.?”
