Player Spotlight: 2Easy makes it too easy

Overwatch Gosu “GosuGamers” Gamers

In this series from GosuGamers, we are going to introduce you to some of the best players that Overwatch has to offer. A lot of the current top players have competed at a high level in various other games and genres before joining the Overwatch scene. These player profiles aim to provide you with information on their previous competitive history (including team history) as well as a brief overview of the player's Overwatch preferences. Let's have a look at a group of FPS veterans now fighting in Overwatch: REUNITED.gg.

Gaming History

Eric "2Easy" van Hoorn has been playing first person shooters since he was only eight years old, starting with the classic fps CounterStrike. His fps pedigree is one of the largest of his competitors, having played nearly every fps in his 24 years of age. From CounterStrike to Call of Duty, it wasn’t until Soldier of Fortune 2 when 2Easy actually got interested in competitive gaming, where he formed a team with his brothers. After that, he hopped over to Battlefield 2 for a while, and then to Enemy Territory Quake Wars, where he saw his first money, a sign of potential and a driving force behind his pursuit of professional gaming. There he also met vallutaja, who became a long-time teammate of his.

When the game died, 2Easy left with vallutaja to Battlefield Bad Company 2, then Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam, then Brink, then Firefall, and then onto Battlefield 3. Throughout his time playing in these games 2Easy gathered the teammates that would become the current REUNITED.gg, all top tier players in their game. The team even played the Xbox version for a year, waking up at 11pm and going to sleep at 9am the next day to practice against North American teams, the top of the Battlefield game.

It wasn’t until Battlefield 4 that 2Easy found true success, though. With his skills already honed on all of the previous installments, as well as other similar games, 2Easy was ready for the game. As well as that, he also had a team of fellow pros from throughout his years playing games to help him absolutely dominate the playing fields. In Battlefield 4 he played under the flag of team Fnatic, and he absolutely wreaked havoc. From 2013 to 2015 he raked in a grand total of 48 tournament wins alongside his team.

Around about the same time that Overwatch was announced, 2Easy’s interest in Battlefield 4 had waned, and the team was looking to move onto greener pastures. With Overwatch, they had found the perfect opportunity, and he alongside Fnatic fully migrated within the first beta phase, where he played his first few tournaments, seeing the same success he saw in Battlefield 4. Before the second beta phase rolled around, 2Easy and the rest of the Fnatic squad left the Fnatic banner and formed their own organization, REUNITED.gg.

Quickfire questions:

Old Tracer pose or new Tracer pose? I never check poses.
Sonic Arrow or Infra-Sight? Tough one but i'll go for Infra-Sight.
Sniping or flanking? Mix of both.

Since coming into the Overwatch scene with his team, 2Easy has been an immensely impressive player, frequently featuring in the Play of the Game at the end of matches. His Tracer is of particular note, being nigh unkillable and getting multi-man Pulse Bomb after Pulse Bomb. His Widowmaker is equally as amazing, consistently able to find the pickoffs and the headshots that his team needs at crucial moments. More incredible than his individual skill though is just how in-sync he is with his teammates, which in turn only goes to showcase individual plays. Having played alongside the rest of REUNITED.gg for years now, 2Easy is a top-tier team player, moving with his team as if they were a single unit.
