Player Spotlight: Likely, Eccentric and Impulsive

In this series from GosuGamers, we are going to introduce you to some of the best players that Overwatch has to offer. A lot of the current top players have competed at a high level in various other games and genres before joining the Overwatch scene. These player profiles aim to provide you with information on their previous competitive history (including team history) as well as a brief overview of the player's Overwatch preferences. Let's have a look at the all Swedish IMPULSE 11.

Gaming History

Andreas "Likely" Lindberg has been in not just one, but two teams that started out as underdogs but quickly entered the group of favorites. First as the mostly Swedish Eccentric, and currently as all-Swedish IMPULSE 11, Likely has shown his ability to recognize talent and the right mindset.

While Overwatch isn't the first game Andreas has played competitively, it is starting to look like this game will provide his big break. His history in competitive shooters, such as Shootmania, Firefall and Counter-Strike, has provided the right type of experience for him to approach this new opportunity professionally and with dedication.

Likely is one of the Support players for IMPULSE 11, as he was for Eccentric, and seems very comfortable in this role. Fraggers get way more attention, both during broadcasts and in general discussion, but Likely's ability to enhance the play of IMPULSE 11's fraggers should not be underestimated. Sometimes the difference between a win and a lose is not a high-speed rocket but a well-timed Resurrection. (There, I did it. Managed to avoid all cheesy puns. I knew I could do it, though some called it unlikely.)

Transcendence or Sound Barrier? Sound barrier. The sound barrier helps prevent a lot of one shot deaths, such as mccree deadeye and sniper headshots, which Trancendence doesn't. The Sound Barrier also allows you to overextend a little bit for a short time, while you need to stay grouped up in order to make the most out of the Trancendence.

Because of the still small pool of Support heroes in Overwatch, Likely only ever really gets to play a few different kits. He has stated that Zenyatta is his personal favourite, but the nerfs to his orbs have significantly lowered the playtime of Zenyatta. After a long period where Mercy wasn't being played, she is now back in the meta and using her high impact Ultimate to provide amazing game moments. Luckily, Likely has mastered the positioning for both of these very different heroes. Lucio, another big Support, is often played by Likely's teammate Hysterica but rest assured that Andreas can also come alive with the sound of music!
