Zenless Zone Zero’s next two patches are going to be big.
HoYoverse is teasing future updates for its action-RPG Zenless Zone Zero in a “Dev Talk” blog post. The post went over future changes and additions coming to the game, including a new traversal method, multiplayer updates, and new story content.
Here are all the biggest changes listed in the Dev Talk:
Main story highlights
HoYoverse has teased a “turning point in the story” in Version 2.4, the game’s next version update. This patch’s new story content will begin ramping up to the climax of Zenless Zone Zero Season 2, following Ye Shiyuan’s entrance and Sarah’s attempt to meet the Creator. The developer has confirmed that the main story’s objectives will be clearer, and more mysteries about the Lemnian Hollow will be unveiled.
The developer has also promised to “deeply integrate narrative with gameplay,” in the future, while confirming that Ye Shunguang will make another appearance in Version 2.4. The main story will also focus on the AI plotline relating to Fairy, which has been left untouched for quite some time now.
Improvements to traversal and exploration
Several locations in Zenless Zone Zero are getting a few new shops for players to explore. The 404 Error live house in Sixth Street is on its way, along with the antique shop Buyan and a hotpot restaurant in Failume Heights.
Ye Shunguang is also bringing a “new way of getting around” in Zenless Zone Zero, though assisting with sandbox exploration. Perception Techniques will also have more applications in exploration, and Kind Bangboo can help players detect treasure. You’ll also be able to collect these rewards while completing missions.
Suibian Temple’s management is also getting a one-click AFK feature to save time. Ether Battery quick sweep, Drive Disc sub-stat selection, and in-combat damage compilation are all also in the works for Version 2.5.
Hollow Zero and multiplayer updates
Hollow Zero is also getting a “massive upgrade,” according to HoYoverse, with “enhanced immersion and progression loops.” Multiplayer gameplay is also set to return, allowing players to team up and jointly unleash Chain Attacks together. More mechanics are in the works for multiplayer, suggesting that the mode might be expanded upon in future patches.
Standard-banner Agents are getting an upgrade
Version 2.5 is also set to deliver an upgrade for the game’s standard-banner characters, via “specific power ups.” A “fresh take” on enemy combat mechanics is also in the pipeline.
