Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3's best Yidhari combat, build, and teams guide

Yidhari's hammering her way through the game, here's how you master her.

Yidhari, the newest S-Rank Sheer Force agent, has finally joined Zenless Zone Zero, and she’s already hammering through the meta in a unique way in Version 2.3. She’s been teased since the start of the update as part of the Spook Shack faction, and now that she’s playable, it’s clear that she brings something different to the table.

Her kit revolves around a high-risk, high-reward playstyle: the lower her HP gets, the harder she hits. It sounds intimidating at first, but once you understand how her HP management works, she becomes one of the most explosive damage dealers in the roster.

This guide will walk you through how to play and build Yidhari effectively, so you can get the most out of her unique kit.

How to play Yidhari: Mastering her HP-based kit

Yidhari's gameplay involves high-risk, high-reward mechanics.

Convert HP into damage

Yidhari can convert her HP into Sheer Force, boosting her overall damage output. The less HP she has, the stronger her attacks become, making her most dangerous when she’s near the brink.

Charge for power

Hold the Basic Attack button to charge up her hammer for a powerful Ice-infused strike. This consumes HP but deals massive damage. While charging, her tentacles act as shields, reducing incoming damage and preventing interruptions.

Restore HP mid-fight

Yidhari can heal herself through specific attacks. The third hit of her Basic Attack combo and her EX Special Attack restore HP, allowing her to stay in the fight longer while fuelling her high-risk, high-reward playstyle.

Parry and counterattack

Timing is everything. Release your Basic Attack or EX Special Attack at the right moment to parry enemy attacks. A successful parry cancels incoming damage, restores HP, and triggers Charging Pursuit, causing Yidhari to dash toward the enemy and smash them with a devastating follow-up attack.

Boost the team with Ether Veil: Wellspring

When her Decibels reach max, Yidhari automatically consumes 3000 of them to activate Ether Veil: Wellspring after finishing a Basic or EX Special Attack. This powerful effect increases your entire party’s Max HP, making her a valuable offensive and supportive asset.

Skill Priority

Unlike many agents, Yidhari's basic attack is the most important to upgrade, after her Core Skills.
  • The Core Skill should be upgraded first, as it provides an important damage increase that enhances the rest of Yidhari’s kit.
  • After that, the Basic Attack is the next priority. Most of Yidhari’s output comes from her regular and charged hammer strikes, so levelling this ability results in a significant damage boost.
  • The Special Attack comes next. It deals strong damage and restores HP, which keeps Yidhari safe while maintaining her high-risk, high-reward playstyle.
  • Once her main skills are strengthened, the Chain Attack becomes valuable to upgrade. It improves her combo potential and increases the power of her Ultimate follow-up.
  • Dodge can be levelled later on. Its contribution is mostly minor damage and mobility, making it less essential to her overall damage loop.
  • Finally, the Assist can be upgraded once the rest of her core abilities are handled. The Daze from her Defensive Assist is helpful, but not a major priority compared to her main damage skills.

Best W-Engines

There are very few W-engines that boost Sheer Force, so Karken's Cralde is a priority.

Kraken’s Cradle: Best Choice

Kraken’s Cradle, is the top pick for Yidhari, especially since it’s her signature w-engine. It boosts her Ice damage as her HP drops and gives a strong CRIT Rate bonus when she’s below half health. This makes her low-HP, high-damage playstyle even more effective.

Qingming Birdcage

This W-Engine increases CRIT Rate consistently and adds extra damage to her EX Special and Ultimate attacks. It’s a solid choice for reliable damage without needing to stay at low HP.

Radiowave Journey

Radiowave Journey strengthens Yidhari’s Sheer Force during Chain Attacks and Ultimates, helping her deal more damage during combos.

Puzzle Sphere

Puzzle Sphere boosts her EX Special attacks, especially against enemies with low HP, making it great for finishing off opponents.

Grill O’Wisp

Grill O’Wisp gives a short-term CRIT boost when HP is low and increases Fire damage. While not tailored to Yidhari’s Ice attacks, it still helps in situations where extra CRIT or HP scaling is useful.

Best Drive Disc sets for Yidhari

Yunkui Tales boosts Rupture Damage, Sheer Damage, and HP, which amplify Yidhari's kit.

Yunkui Tales (4-pc) + Woodpecker Electro (2-pc): Best option

This is the strongest setup for Yidhari. Yunkui Tales boosts Rupture damage, Sheer DMG, and HP, all of which directly amplify her kit. Pairing it with Woodpecker Electro adds extra CRIT Rate, making her charged and follow-up attacks hit even harder. Branch and Blade Song can also fill the 2-piece slot if Woodpecker Electro pieces are unavailable.

Yunkui Tales (4-pc) + Dawn’s Bloom (2-pc): Next best option

A reliable alternative that leans into Basic Attack damage. Dawn’s Bloom helps increase the damage of her regular and charged hammer swings, making it a solid fallback option while still keeping her overall playstyle intact.

Best teams for Yidhari

Yidhari fits into multiple team compositions, although the best one is with Lycaon and Lucia.

What Kind of Teams Work for Yidhari?

Yidhari performs best in teams that boost Rupture damage and support her with a Stun and Support unit that enhance her output. She excels when paired with Agents who can shred Ice RES, increase Sheer DMG, or provide consistent buffs to amplify her Rupture windows. Ice-leaning teams or Sheer DMG variants both work well, depending on your Support choice.

Recommended Rupture Team

  • Yidhari (Core Rupture DPS)
  • Lycaon (Stun, best partner; strong Ice RES shred)
  • Lucia (Support, Ice + Rupture synergy and reliable buffs)
  • Bangboo: Miss Esme
  • Bangboo Alternatives: Booressure, Sumoboo, Exploreboo, Knightboo

This team composition Provides Yidhari with the Stun + buff support she needs to maximize Rupture damage. Lycaon offers the highest performance spike due to Ice RES reduction. If unavailable, Ju Fufu fills the Stun slot well.

Quick substitutes

If you lack the ideal Stun:

  • Ju Fufu: Best alt; CRIT DMG buff + raises Decibel cap
  • Lighter: For Ice-leaning variant; boosts Ice DMG
  • Pulchra: Off-field Daze; strong if M6

If you need Support options:

  • Astra: CRIT DMG + healing for safe, balanced runs
  • Pan Yinhu: Strong focus on Sheer DMG amplification
  • Soukaku: Simple and effective Ice DMG buffer

 Other effective team comps

  • Premium Sheer Damage: Team Yidhari + Ju Fufu + Lucia
  • Ice + Sheer Damage Hybrid: Yidhari + Lycaon + Lucia
  • Spook Shack / Suibian Temple synergy: Yidhari + Pan Yinhu + Ju Fufu
  • Balanced buffs + sustain: Yidhari + Ju Fufu + Astra
  • Pure Ice variant: Yidhari + Lycaon + Soukaku

With the right build and a bit of practice, you’ll have Yidhari within your grasp in no time. Once her rhythm clicks, she wraps around encounters with ease and leaves enemies with nowhere to escape.
