Invictus Gaming would start the first game within the final day of the weekend, preparing against the possible upset Wings of Aurora showed capable of after upsetting World Elite on Friday. While Wings of Aurora had somewhat of an advantage in their picks in the early game, Invictus Gaming had better preparation for jungle pressure.
When Illusion came to assist Pdd in his struggles against an irritating Caitlyn, Elise lane, WoA attempted to trade kills to make the most out of the receiving end of a gank. Unfortunately for them, kill trades don't exactly work so well against Zac when his passive is available.
Later, Invictus Gaming would find a favorable advantage in the middle lane roaming over WoA, granting them a double kill only a short while after grabbing the first dragon of the game for themselves. However, despite the early deficit, WoA would find themselves confidently neck-and-neck in gold progressing into the early-middle game.
However, the real momentum switch would occur with an amazing Crescendo performed by Xiaoxiao in the enemy jungle, allowing for a clean ace and a pressure onto bottom inhibitor. iG then surmounted an unstoppable lead and prevented another major upset from happening at the hands of WoA.
OMG look to defend their powerful stronghold on the top of the LPL, but with how much of a fight Royal Club pulled off against World Elite in the day prior, it doesn't seem like an easy feat for OMG. Despite having a rather difficult time farming for Wh1t3zZ on Varus, things were looking fairly even from either side from the game's initiation.
The period of calm would come to an end when a large, scary bear would run in to assist Uzi, the AD Carry player of Royal Club who has been finding success with Twisted Fate as of late, securing himself the first blood. The lead would only continue with Varus catching up in farm and also grabbing a kill on a caught out Sona, which allowed free dragon access directly after.
Uzi continues his phenomenal control over the map, allowing his team to be 4-0 after just 11 minutes in, partaking in 3 of the kills and utilizing the full potential of Twisted Fate's Destiny. Despite being down in kills, however, it would appear that OMG would have excellent tower control, taking just 4 of them over the 0 of Royal Club at 20 minutes.
It was too little too late where Royal Club discovered just how much the map control of OMG was paying dividends. This would be more and more apparent with Royal Club being afraid to ward all portions necessary to ward and allowing the mid game shift to heavily favor the mobility and strong team presence of OMG. Though a scary game in the beginning, OMG pulled it out in the end.
With Positive Energy duking it out against LiveMore, neither team was able to seize an advantage in the early jungle dancing phases of the game. However, Positive Energy would find their first opportunity of an aggressive play only partway through the laning phase, where Jing on Lee Sin would assist them in a very narrow but worthy dive onto LM's top duo.
LM's duo would find difficulty recovering from this, attempting to farm at tower with red elixer and desperately avoid quivering arrows from Varus, albeit receiving some inevitably to the face. Later, LM would find brief revenge in the top lane with the sacrifice of their jungler while a dive goes on bottom in their favor, but not without Diana playing clean-up.
PE's mid laner would continuously be a deadly adversary throughout the laning phase, giving LM hell with his extremely successful roaming, helping his team acquire 5 of it's 7 kills around 13 minutes into the game, sidekicking her complimentary Lee Sin who, at this point, has the most kills in the game.
Assisted by both the disgusting initiation potential as well as Area of Effect damage within the composition of Positive Energy would prove to be a nightmare for LM falling behind at a time where they should be ahead. The first inhibitor drops before the 25 minute mark in the mid lane followed by a baron -- things just go downhill from there for LM.
