In the first day of week 8 at the LPL, OMG continue their carnage and prove themselves a top contender amongst the world's greatest teams.
With the perfect combination of jungle pressure and lane sustain with poke, the synergy of Varus' range with Sona's offensive aura capabilities allowed them to render Livemore's top laner helpless. Attempting to fend them back, Rumble could only watch and let the tower fall while being denied several CS in the process.
The lead would not end there for OMG and soon things would spiral out of control in their favor. After taking top tower, OMG swung to the bottom half of the map to secure dragon and easily take the bottom turret as well, offering supreme map advantage early on.
This lead would lead to an absolute stomp in favor of OMG where a 12-1-2 Zed would rip absolutely any opposition to threads. After securing a baron a half hour in and playing cautiously enough to secure the lead, Livemore would find themselves in an non-repairable spot, being simply rolled over by OMG.
The old kings would find themselves falling once again in today's LPL when facing off against a very burst heavy Wings of Aurora. In an unexpected event, WoA decided to swap their bottom lane to blue side, which is generally a very purple side attributed strategy to offset the double golem advantage.
With a bit of misstep, Renekton found himself in an unfortunately situation being carefully torn apart by Wings of Aurora's duo pair. When Troll came to back him up and secure a kill out of the encounter, incredible micro allowed them to pick up 2 kills instead.
After a very quick BF sword buyback for Graves, he finds it easy to secure a skill against the Weixiao, flat out annihilating him in a 2v2 and taking their second turret of the game at 8 minutes. A dragon, as expected, would follow shortly there after.
For awhile, it was seem as the World Elite was on the verge of a comeback by capitalizing on mistakes and taking a couple kills of their own, but WoA would quickly turn things back in their favor. WoA secured their lead by oracle clearing and eliminating any chances for error, allowing them to secure a victory over World Elite.
Either by sloppy play or wonderful execution, early game kills have been the theme of today's LCS to develop an early lead. Positive Energy vs. Royal Club is no exception to the rule. To start things off, Royal Club looked to bring their aggression into Positive Energy's jungle on blue side, looking fairly confident in their movement.
Unfortunately for them, their plans would fall short as they were chased off by Lee Sin and Diana. Exiting a bit late, Volibear would not be able to escape the pair -- even with his passive. First blood would go to Diana with an assist to help out Lee Sin early in his jungle.
Unlike decisive outcome at the result of an early advantage like today's earlier games, Royal Club would hold strong and actually pull ahead of gold and kills, finding themselves ahead in Top Lane, Jungle, and Middle. With several slips of and the lack of a firm grasp into securing their lead, Royal Club would soon find themselves in the very much dominating position of the game.
Though they try to contest dragons leading into the mid game, their results see no success and Royal Club sustain their lead. By what seemingly was an incredibly miracle, two sets of excellent engages and teamfights would bring a near ace and a game-ending ace to Positive Energy, allowing them to grab a win from a nearly 6k gold deficit.
"Facecheck" is the name of the game for Invictus Gaming when faced against Wayi Spider for the final match of today's LPL. In a painful attempt to invade Wayi Spider, their support finds a nest full of hungry predators waiting to tear her up for first blood. Immediately following the first blood, Wayi Spider takes the red buff away from Invictus' jungle.
The day was not going well for the dunkmaster up top, who consistently found himself losing duels to Easy, bringing a 4-1 start initially to iG. Relentless to not lose hope so early, Invictus Gaming finds some success in the bottom lane with the assistance of Karthus mid.
Surely enough, the Karthus cleanup crew would bring things slowly in iG's favor as the game scaled onward, allowing Darius to catch up in kills as well by utilizing his resetting ultimate. Though bringing pain and despair to iG in the early game, they were not capable of closing it out fast enough to stop Invictus Gaming from pulling out the last win of the day.
