EG takes the series against North-American rival Team Liquid, who will be pushed to the Loser Bracket. 2-1 is the result of a very entertaining and intense match-up.
Evil Genuises take the opportunity they were given by Absolute Legends and take down Team Liquid. Maelk and Co. played a very convincing series even though they had SexyBamboe as a stand-in for bdiz. They will play against the winner of Kaipi vs. Fnatic, a match that has yet to be scheduled.
Seeing as the match was played out without any further DDoS attacks, the Western qualifiers will continue as planned. The exact schedule has yet to be decided on though, so make sure to keep track our Gosubet section as we can expect two best-of-three matches per playday.

Liquid opted for an aggressive trilane with their Chen, Rubick and Batrider and successfully kept EG down, scoring first blood. They forced out a lot of rotation from DeMoN, who lost more and more control of his midlane.
EG quickly lost map control after DeMoN went down in the midlane and Liquid accomplished to take down two towers from this. It didn't look good for EG, but a good teamfight with a 3-man Reverse Polarity brought EG back into the game. They managed to kill off four Radiant heroes and regained a bit of map control, giving Fear much needed farm.

Both teams engaged each other afterwards multiple times, and both teams managed to kill the other team once, but Liquid could not profit from it, whereas EG managed to grab more map control and even an Aegis.
With a BKB and Linken's Sphere on Fear, EG sieged and forced down two sets of melee rax on top and mid, building up their gold advantage. Liquid still fought valiantly and made sure to trade at least a few heroes in return, but could not push out properly.
When EG sieged the bottom lane, Liquid were with their backs to the wall as the other lanes pushed in. Their disadvantage in gold and experience showed when ixmike's stolen RP was not enough to counter DeMoN's Refresher Orb and Fear scored an Ultra Kill, sealing the deal on game 1.

Once again, Liquid went aggressive with their two supports, but this time around their trilane was not as successful. EG managed to grab first blood by a failed attempt from the Dire, whereas DeMoN took a kill on TC in the midlane. Liquid responded with some rotation, getting kills on SexyBamboe and DeMoN.
EG tried several ganks with a Wisp relocate, but some failed Tethers gave away a kill or just opened up the map for Liquid. A siege on the midtower turned out horrible for Liquid as they lost their tier 2 bot and gave away four kills to EG.
Liquid however fought their way back in an engagement in the river, where the Wisp Relocate once again did not pay off and even though TC missed his Reverse Polarity, Korok was able to dish out enough damage to kill most of EG's heroes.
TC and Bulba managed to pick off several heroes from time to time, securing towers neccessary for map control.
Another big engagement on the bot lane put Liquid way upfront as Korok saves his BKB to avoid a Ravage and Fluff manages to steal it to seal the deal on the teamfight.

Liquid secured Aegis and sieged down the midlane, but Fear on his Tiny efficiently traded top rax for it. When coming back, EG had no answer to Korok's damage, BKB and Aegis. A buyback on Fear proved to be useless, even though Liquid was forced to retreat.
They didn't go away for long though as Korok bought a Divine Rapier and they quickly rushed down midlane. Two RPs, one stolen Ravage and a Flak Cannon later, Liquid tied the match 1-1.

EG now tried to run an aggressive trilane, but Liquid anticipated that and avoided it by putting a solo Weaver against that. EG knew they had to change up their lanes and rotated their supports to the safelane, and Liquid responded with a rotation of themselves.
Liquid looked to win the laning stage when a rotation by Fear's Undying and good positioning from SexyBamboe secured a double kill. DeMoN also farmed well in his midlane and a rotation from him opened up the map as EG scored more kills.
The Radiant had trouble keeping up with the pace, but were able to trade a few heroes here and there when a teamfight eventually went in their favor as they pick up four heroes with TC's Weaver and a stolen Calldown.
20 minutes in, EG had a 10k gold lead and had control of most parts of the map. They piled on and when the crucial items were up, they forced teamfights. Liquid could barely keep up during teamfights and traded insufficiently. EG got further and further ahead and they had no problems to force down the top rax.
Another lost teamfight for Liquid on the botlane eventually forced out the gg.
