Day one of Star Series V will begin at 18:00 CEST with NTH going up against Empire and VP facing off against Fnatic.EU. With a guaranteed $1,000 already in their wallet, the four contenders will be gunning for the grand prize of $8,000.
StarLadder Star Series V will begin today at 18:00 CEST with NoTidehunter first going up against the winner of Techlabs Cup, Team Empire. Fnatic.EU versus Virtus.Pro will follow at 21:30 CEST to conclude day one in Kiev.
NoTidehunter has been trading blows with Team Empire in the past two months. Both teams are currently settled at two wins each and will be going into Star Series thirsty for the small lead. Most recently in The Premier League, NoTidehunter was able to overcome the 1-0 deficit and won the decider.
Fnatic.EU on the other hand, has a lot to prove after losing their fourth consecutive game to Virtus.Pro in the past month. Their loss in the grand final of The Defense 3 has been a devastating blow. Fnatic.EU tried to stage a comeback after going down two games and they successfully tied the series up at 2-2. Ultimately, it was the Russians who prevailed.
