Virtus Pro, Empire lead ASUS groups after first day

KIEV - The participating teams of ASUS FBOTY completed the first chunk of their group matches and will meet again tomorrow to determine who is going to advance to the playoffs.

As expected, the Dota 2 event has seen its fair share of completely onesided matches, in which the favourites managed to work out a lead over the attending amateur teams.

A small upset was caused by Russian side Virtus Pro who lead group A with three wins to zero, after catching local heroes Na`Vi off guard with an aggressive lineup featuring Naix, Undying, Batrider, Shadow Demon and a strong Queen of Pain.

ArtStyle's Netolic passed their first assignments as well, taking out Ukrainian sides SSD and Eyeless. The new team has yet to cross swords with Na`Vi however; a match which will potentially decide who gets the better seeding for the Quarter Finals to be played on Saturday.

Not much is decided in group B on the other hand, which only completed two rounds so far. Empire, iLuminate and iCCup (formerly DevilMice) currently reside on top and will have to secure their playoff slots tomorrow.
