In a double elimination best-of-one tournament on Monday, StarLadder has determined the 15th and 16th team of Season 4. The $15,000 StarSeries starts on Tuesday, 13 November and will finish with the offline finals for four teams from 20 to 23 December. Online matches will be finished until 11 December.
By holding a preliminary tournament, not only the two last teams have been decided, which are NoTidehunter from Sweden and We haz Asian from Germany and Denmark, but also possible substitute teams. In previous seasons it has happened from time to time that teams had to withdraw from the regular season, leaving an empty spot.
Top substitute teams are now the European team Kaipi, which ended up in third place in the preliminaries and Ecylpsia from Russia, finishing as fourth. For the new lineups of iCCup and mTw, this qualification tournament was a test ending not successful. For mTw, the fact that they lost against the two later qualifying teams eases the pain a little bit.
