mouz parts ways with their Dota 2 team

European fan magnet mousesports parts ways with its Dota 2 team right before the upcoming StarLadder finals. The GD Studio will take care of their travelling accommodations.

On this week's episode of the 'GD Studio', James '2GD' Harding officially announced mousesports decision to not sponso its team for Kiev. The GD Studio will take care of the teams travel accommodations to the StarLadder StarSeries finals this weekend and the team will not participate under the mousesports tag for this tournament.

It is however not an issue for just this tournament anymore. The team is parting ways with their sponsor, according to Aalan 'Bamboe' Faraj's twitter it's on mutual terms.

The new team name has yet to be decided on, but the composition probably won't last for long. Dominik 'Black^' Reitmeier has already been playing with team No Tidehunter and successfully qualified for ESWC with his other teammates, Kuro 'KuroKy' Takhasomi has also been playing with different teams. Right after The International, he already said he would continue his search for a self-made team and mousesports would only be temporary for him. 2GD also confirmed that said sponsorship will only last for the StarLadder grand finals.

Statement by Bamboe via twitter:

No, we diddn't get dropped. We just went our seperate ways. No hard feelings.

mousesports has now released an official statement on their Facebook page, stating that it was a mutual decision to part ways. While they do look to be still involved in the Dota 2 scene, it is unlikely that anything will happen in the near future.

Statement by mousesports on their Facebook page

Due to a recent article posted on joinDOTA.com we wanted to clarify the situation about the current mousesports Dota 2 team. After The International, our team partially disbanded and we've set up a temporary Dota 2 lineup for the time beeing. Before the Starladder Finals, we've agreed with the players to release them out of their running contracts in October 2012, since some wanted to pursue a different career approach in Dota 2. It wouldn't make any sense to send a team to Kiev, that isn't contracted and won't play for mousesports anymore, so mousesports won't finance the team's trip to Kiev. The unpaid trip to Kiev is in no relation with the mousesports sponsors, as it was a decision by mousesports to not pay the travel and accomodation costs for a disbanded team. Despite all this confusion, we're wishing our former temporary Dota 2 team best of luck in Kiev.
