Spearheading an all-Korean top eight, SKT's Yoon Jong "Rain" Jung is crowned WCS continental champion of Asia, shooting down ST's Parting 2-0 and grabbing the $24,000.

After the first playday, Rain had reached the winners bracket semi final after an aggregate 6-0 against Nilon, F91 and TooDming, his next opponent to be fellow KeSPA protoss, CJ Entus' hero[join]. As day two resumed, hero[join] would also be the only player to take a map off Rain before falling to the lower bracket with a 1-2 loss where he'd be eventually eliminated by grand finalist Parting.

A 2-0 against Liquid`HerO sent Rain to the grand final of WCS Asia, another testament to Jung's current outstanding form and one that put him intimately close to his first championship. Coming from the losers bracket as his opponent was Parting and StarTale's protoss had to win two Bo3 series if he wanted to stop Rain's advancement but he was never given that chance. Catching a few stranded immortals in the middle of the map was a gift much welcomed by Rain and a score leader was quickly established. A 2-base blink/immortal push followed up on Rain's lead, finding one very helpless Parting who could not defend both the stalker infestation in his main and the front-gate pressure at his natural. A GG was called, putting an end to the tournament and hanging a medal of gold around Rain's neck.

WCS Asia top 8

1. Korea Rain, $24,000
2. Korea Parting, $9,000
3. Korea HerO, $3,600
4. Korea hero[join], $1,800
5-6. Korea Curious, $1,300
5-6. Korea RorO, $1,300
7-8. Korea Creator, $1,100
7-8. Korea Seed, $1,100

Rain will get a shot at another championship at the end of the month as he will go against the winner of DongRaeGu and MC for the OSL trophy on October 27th.
