Terran aces fall in OSL Ro16 day two

Both MVP and MarineKing started off their OSL run on the wrong foot

The KeSPA forces are continuing their strong performance in the OSL, easily going on par with the best of the GSL generation.

Being players with such a rich on championships SC2 career, each one of Mvp, MarineKing and MC brought along his formidable presence for his “elephant match” in OSL Ro16 day two. With yesterday’s results in mind, however, including the losses of NesTea and San, there was one clear statement put on the table: the KeSPA players can never be underestimated. Words whose truth today’s games would heavily support.

Victim number one for day two was MarineKing who suffered a moderately surprising defeat from SKT’s Rain. Already proven himself as one of the best KeSPA players during WCS Korea, Rain would not falter against MKP’s superior macro and would wait until he could land the most devastating storms. As the reaping started, the tables turned. MKP did not micro properly, his only action being running away from the protoss army, feeling the whip of psi storms upon his back, pushing him towards his defeat.

No different was Mvp’s fate in his match against Flying, although his loss was due more to Mvp’s own greediness and Flying’s peculiar opening than anything else. The protoss took an unorthodox approach towards the opening stage, going for a 2-base immortal/sentry/stalker push, garnished with zealot harass in the main that took Mvp defenseless high-econ base with the pants down. Twenty SCVs were lost and Mvp had no other choice but to go on MULE reserves for the next few minutes. Meanwhile in Flyingland, the protoss was upgrading heavily and shutting down every comeback drop attempt handily, reaching 3/3 before Mvp could even get 2/2. The day belonged to Flying.

With the two terran powerhouses scoring losses, the KeSPA representatives were dangerously close to a perfect day and it was up to BeSt. Too bad he had to play MC and the Boss Toss needed nothing more than a blink/prism opening to slap his opponent in the face and end it quickly and bloody.
