One of Australia's most prominent players Jared "PiG" Krensel deservedly took his spot among the some of the best in professional StarCraft 2 and will play in the grand finals of the Global Gaming Alliance cup.

The Korean presence made a short appearance in GGA once again after staying away from GGA #7 and #8. Former oGs zerg and GSL regular JookTo made his way to the semi finals but the hometurf player only allowed him to go so far. After a 1-2 loss to Australian protoss Sensei, JookTo faced elimination, failing to bring back the Korean win streak from the first GGAs. Sensei was also responsible for the demise of arguably the third best player in Australia next to PiG and Moonglade - Mafia, slapping him down in the Ro32

PiG himself walked a much easier bracket then Sensei and was about to face him in the grand final, but the protoss player forfeited the match, giving PiG a walkover and the spot at the closing event.
