The Defense Final Standings
1. Ukraine Natus Vincere€6,000
2. Denmark Quantic Gaming€2,500
3. Denmark Evil Geniuses€1,500
The Defense finally came to its conclusion with the grand finals between Na'Vi and Quantic Gaming. In the end, after a hard fought and entertaining best of 5 series it was the Ukrainian powerhouse that adds another championship title to its list of impressive achievements.

With Na'Vi advancing into the final through the winner's bracket thus securing a 1-0 advantage, Quantic faced an uphill battle where they had to even the series before even thinking about winning the tournament. With 6000 Euros for the winner, the drafting stage was all about sabotaging the opponent's plans whilst picking a lineup that best fits the game strategy that each team has.

"Smoke ganks from Quantic once again caught Na'Vi off guard"
In game 1, we see Quantic immediately banning out Chen, denying Puppey's hand of god and holy persuasion clutch saves. Na'Vi bans out Dark Seer due to their hatred of turtling strategies. Invoker and Shadow Shaman were banned respectively due to both heroes' ability to create solo kill opportunities as well as strong presence during team fights. Latter bans were of no surprise, and during the picking stage both teams sought to play the game with different goals: Quantic Gaming wants to create an early advantage through Nature's Prophet's global presence as well as Broodmother's endless tower pushes, whilst Na'Vi had XBOCT playing Anti Mage and having four other heroes that can deal significant AOE damage to the enemy to allow AM the farm needed to dominate the late game.

Despite AM getting good farm, a smoke gank and a perfect shackle shot from WR by Ryze was able to stop his farm momentarily. Quantic was able to get important items on all of their heroes, and subsequent fights saw Na'Vi coming dangerously close to making a comeback. However, smoke ganks from Quantic once again caught Na'Vi off guard, this time the victim being Smile's Warlock. Without his golem, Quantic were able to take the top raxes. From then on, it was Quantic playing steadily as they did not allow Na'Vi any chance of making a comeback.

"Game decider was Quantic's bold move to go for Roshan"
In game 2 we see Na'Vi banning out Nature's Prophet after miGGel's great play. Once again, Na'Vi grabs AM as their first pick. There were some questionable game choices, such as XBOCT's decision to go for a hand of midas instead of early vanguard, or when Puppey played Storm Spirit whilst LightofHeaven took Enigma, where a switch around would have seen both players with heroes that the public fondly remember them best at. Nevertheless, one of the game deciders was Quantic's bold move to go for Roshan. Despite having knowledge of it, Na'Vi opted to let it go, which proved to be a disaster. Having the aegis, Quantic proceeded to take consecutive towers at bottom, and the agression paid off as they took the bottom raxes in 18 minutes.

With all advantage Quantic earned, Tidehunter even got a Sange and Yasha. For Na'Vi, AM was unable to do any real damage to Quantic whilst Storm does not have his bkb yet. The last fight at top saw Na'Vi being unable to bring down any of Quantic's heroes, whilst losing their own Enigma, VS and Storm. Na'Vi calls gg, and in an unbelivable turn of events, Quantic has taken a 2-1 lead in the finals, needing one more win to seal the deal.

Quantic with questionable drafting decisions - leaving out Invoker
The third game saw Quantic making questionable drafting decisions, leaving out Invoker which is immediately picked up by Na'Vi. Throughout the game, superior individual skill and teamplay saw Na'Vi pushing down towers rapidly, whilst scavenging for any ganks they can get to build a larger advantage. The game decider came at the third roshan, where Na'Vi was able to destroy Quantic with Dendi's Invoker dealing large amounts of damage with his exort focus skill build. From then on, it was a matter of time before Na'Vi and Invoker's Forge Spirits take down the towers and barracks, and Quantic calls gg.

35,000 people saw Na'Vi go for Twin Head Dragon
With the series tied at 2-2, the final game sees viewership going up to 35k on Tobi's stream. Viewers were pumped up for a even game, but the game was completely controlled by Na'Vi. With the pickup of AM, Quantic was unable to deal with the early pressure against the lineup of Na'Vi, which features Enchantress, Windrunner, Broodmother, Riki and yes, you heard it right, Twin Head Dragon. The pushing power of Na'Vi was so intense that all of Quantic's outer towers were taken by the 11th minute. However, Quantic needed an urgent break and it was to happen with server issues forcing remakes.

After the remake, Na'Vi proceeded to try and end the game but a series of bad fights saw Quantic annihilating Na'Vi and giving hope for a possible come back. Sensing that possibility, Link's Anti Mage decides to go for roshan, but Na'Vi groups together and catches them out, and it goes horribly wrong for Quantic as they lose 4 heroes and roshan. From then on, Na'Vi goes through the middle and ends the game.

Quantic Gaming continues to improve and with this series shows the world that they are able to directly challenge Na'Vi and pose a serious threat to end their dominance.
