Yet another week and yet another qualifier have passed by and with it there are two more players added into the mix of players that qualified for the groupstage so far.
After the groupstage there will still be a bracket with the remaining eight players of who only one can win the first place and the $100, the top 4 qualify for the $500 second season's groupstage already, however.
This week the Polish Zerg SouthPark and the Peruvian Terran player Nb.TerrOr. managed to win, each only dropping one game each in the round of 8.
As usual we held them hostage to ask them a couple of questions after their respective wins.
Did you think you would make it after seeing the bracket at first?
SouthPark: hmm, when I fist saw the bracket, I thought I had a chance, but when I got to know that bubble_bobble is dredredre I worried. But ZaRaki beat him and I had a strong opponent. I play many 2v2's nowadays and no 1v1 but I got a lucky win. I was also afraid to meet Mazur in the finals if I made it there, but to my surprise he lost early on and my only rival was GoTunk who I played in the final.
TerrOr: Well, there were many good players but I was confident I could get through if I could avoid Protoss players. Personally I was afraid of Jumper. But after he lost in the first round I knew I only need to beat LRM)CastrO.
Who was your hardest opponent?
SouthPark: I thought it would be GoTunk but after these games I think it was ZaRaki. ZvZ is my best matchup but I had a little luck against GoTunk and I played good so I managed to win. Of course second game was cheese ;) I like offensive hatcheries!
TerrOr: LRM)CastrO was my hardest opponent because I lost 0-2 on ladder to him.
What is your impression of the event so far?
SouthPark: I smiled when I saw this event. I knew I want to play in this tour but I couldn't play in the first two weeks. Today I had time and I played and was lucky that other good players in my bracket's half were eliminated early on. Of course ZaRaki and GoTunk are great players and I am happy that I managed to win.
TerrOr: It's amazing what GosuGamers is doing for the BW community. I've played all the GosuGamers tours and finally I could get a spot in the final tournament.
The other four players that have qualified so far are non others than Michael, reps)Pro7ecT, LRM)Bakuryu and LRM)Technics.
This gives us a total of four Zergs, two Terrans and so far no single Protoss.
