Yesterday evening at 19CET we started the first of six qualifiers for the $100 GosuCup Season 1. The first place of the whole season will take home the $100 while the top four will qualify for the second season's groupstage which will hold a total of $500.
Many great players showed up and allowed Sayle to cast alot of great games on his twitch.tv channel, but only two were to qualify and those two clearly stood ahead only dropping one individual game in total.

Those two were non others than the Russian Terran reps)Pro7ecT and the US-American Zerg Michael who had the time to answer us some questions after ending up victorious.
Did you think you would make it after seeing the bracket at first?
Michael: Well yes, I always have confidence in my game but I wasn't really sure about making it and I was just going to try my best, to cheese my way out (laughs).
Pro7ecT: I was not totally sure about that, because there were Bo1 rounds in this tournament, so everything could have happened. So I am very glad that I could reserve the slot for the group stage.
Who was your hardest opponent?
Michael: gNs.I-trutaCz in the Final Round. Being ZvZ which I think depends alot on the build orders.
Pro7ecT: In my part of the bracket, I was afraid to play against iFU.Pallmall because he has very good PvT and when I played vs him before he beat me several times. If Pallmall was in better shape, he could beat me. But I was lucky (smiles).
What is your impression of the event so far?
Michael: I really like all the events going on lately, I think it's really helping getting the scene back in shape. And Thanks/Love to all you supporters!
Pro7ecT: It's very nice that such a solid community as GosuGamers.net is making such good events for BW players. I want to say big thanks to the organizers of GosuCup. I will do my best to show good games in the group stage.
