The access policy of the Dota 2 beta recently evolved to a hot topic and evoked huge controversies between chosen and non-considered community-members. The anger of the self-proclaimed 'outsiders' culminated after two major LAN tournaments (ESWC and SMM) announced the switch to the sequel, a game that not all professoinal teams recieved at the same time for training-purposes and features a comparatively low hero pool.
High-caliber players and beta testers on the other hand counter-argue with the rising interest that the tournaments will recieve among the common public and the excellent job, that the developers have been doing in making Dota 2 the best possible successor.
