SeleCT could not find the strength to defeat his quarter-finals opponent - the God Protoss MC. The oGs beast was merciless towards his compatriot and snatched a convincing 3-0.
In the first set we saw a funky opening from SeleCT, going for a 2-base cloak ghost rush but the "probes lost" counter showed a number far insufficient to justify the huge gas investment. The game transitioned into a macro phase and both players got many chances to show their quality. SeleCT's stutter step micro was impeccable but MC's army was just too scary. Storms and archon fire laid the victory carpet under MC's feet as he took the first set. The protoss followed that win with a quick second one, tearing Select apart with unspeakably devastating blink stalker rush.
The third set was a big test for Select's defensive abilities. MC launched wave after wave of protoss units but Select managed to keep himself alive after each of those. However, a closer look would give up Select's true problem - his SCV count was growing thin during all those attack due to being forced to pull off workers for defense and although he succeeded in securing a kind of a stable equilibrium and mustered enough forces to push across the map, a storm drop by MC scalded any hopes of comeback for Select.
MC's opponent tomorrow will be decided in the last match for the evening, Moonglade and Mana are currently battling each other for the final spot in the semi-finals.
