Polish protoss MaNa is the first SC2 player to walk out with a win at the start of Day 2 at IEM Cologne. The victim was Stephano who started off with an early lead but in the end lost the series 1-2.
Stephano won the first set in a very zergy way. He secured quick five bases while Mana was only on three and started a constant stream of units down protoss' natural. By the 15th minute mark, Stephano had a 50 supply lead, the number constantly growing until Mana was forced to GG.
But the protoss power would not be easily extinguished and Mana displayed brilliant defence against Stephano's constant attack on both Terminus and Shakuras. Mana played cautious and passive games protecting every single expansion to the best and utilizing map topography to force fights in tight chokes. Although Stephano had base and supply lead in both games, the inability to win a big engagement cost him the series.
Currently on stream is Puma vs Sase, with game 1 on Shakuras on the way.
