It took Kas and Beasty more than an hour to finish the IEM Cologne opening game. At the end Kas succeeded into coming back and winning the series 2-1.
Beasty's mech opening, supported by endless hellion drops, brought Beasty an early advantage on Shakuras, getting more than 50 supply lead ahead of Kas, as Ukrainian's SCV count dwindled down. Kas, however, proved hard to kill and abused the immobility of Beasty and assaulted his base, forcing a re-positioning of all those siege tanks and, eventually, tying the supply count. But Beasty's macro was top-notch and once he secured the safety of his expansions, he struck Kas down with a mech sledgehammer.
The Tal'Darim set turned into a base-trade fiasco as Kas, on first look with complete dominance all over the map, allowed Beasty to find a crack and launch an attack towards his main, where all the production facilities stood. Beasty downed the supply difference but Kas had already thrown down many barracks in his 12 o'clock base and remacroed with tons of marines, hunting down the remaining bases of Beasty and tying the score.
In the final set, both terrans opened banshee and did significant damage to each other's economy but overall the deal seemed better for Kas, him standing in a 15 supply lead. The Ukrainian was swift the exploit this advantage and commanded a tank/marine/viking push, completely denying Beasty's natural and forcing out a gg.
Next on the schedule is DignitasKiller vs oGsMC. The Chilean Zerg took Idra's place in group A but the invite came with a "problem" that many fans name world's best protoss.
