The first round of the IPL 2 Losers Bracket is complete. Eight players go home empty handed while others delivered unexpected upsets.
Drewbie and Tarson both scored TvT victories, defeating DieStar and Fury respectively. The Canadian will be expecting yet another terran (the loser of Cloud and Strelok) in the second round, while Tarson will have to face either Goody or NightEnd.
Axslav dominated over Destiny 2-1 to keep himself alive in the tournament. The only protoss that played in the first day of the LB is however looking forward to a tough next match versus either Select or Lalush. Finally, at the end of the first batch of LB games, a third terran fell out of IPL 2 as dde lost to Darkforce, not managing to take a single set.
The second day of the Losers bracket started with a face-off worthy of the much later stages of the tournament as IPL 1 runner-up Kiwikaki met Polish powerhouse Nerchio. The Zerg was merciless towards Kiwi and snatched a 2-0 victory, sending the silver medalist out of the tournament.
Ret was the second Zerg to keep a stand that day, going 2-1 versus Ranged. The Dutch fell to the LB after losing to Select but is now safe from elimination at least for the time being.
Couple of upsets freshened up the second day of the LB as two of the darkhorses of the tournament snatched up wins over proven players. Panamanian Terran Cocoa eliminated Stalife, while State prevailed over Dignitas' Merz.
