GSTL Jupiter Week 2: TSL vs Prime

Stripped of three of its Code S-ers, TSL went on to face a team that tutored three-times GSL finalist and a young champion. How did TSL manage to do without FruitDealer, Trickster and Rain?

TSL_Killer vs NettiePrime @ Tal'Darim Altar

Both players took turns at being on the offensive: Killer during the 4-gate mirror phase and Nettie during the blink vs blink battles. Seeing that no one could take a decisive lead, Nettie threw down a robo and a nexus but this heavy transitioning cost him dearly as Killer marched forward with a much larger army. With a beautiful concave, Killer pushed TSL to a 1-0 lead.

With all those money invested in tech and additional nexus, Nettie's inferior army falls to Killer's stalkers

TSL_Killer vs BboongBboongPrime @ Metalopolis

Big blunder came from Killer early in the match after he let some lings of Bboong sneak into his main, harass his mineral line and scout his Stargate tech. As the push at zerg's third was completely thwarted, Bboong pushed in with his maxed army for the kill.

Roaches and queens become the nightmare for Killer's zealot/void ray army

TSL_Puma vs BboongBboongPrime @ Xel'Naga Caverns

Puma won an impressive early victory, killing three drones with only one marine and an SCV. The terran than transitioned into preigniter hellions but Bboong's sim city defense and ling control denied any damage. Puma continued his mech play by adding Thors and later tanks to his composition and by the mid-game he was holding a very solid position by his gold expansion. Bboong tried to win some ground with roaches and mutas but his indecisive engagements cost him too many casualties and as his third fell, the zerg had to gg.

The small supply lead counts for nothing when you are running out of bases

TSL_Puma vs MarineKingPrime @ Crevasse

Puma opened hellion/banshee but a micro hiccup led to the end of this harass and soon the TSL player found himself contained by the bio of MarineKing. But Puma already had his hidden CC up and by using another one of his orbitals for spotter, he broke out and moved to the center, establishing a strong position. Although with a 3/3 for his bio, MarineKing just could not find cracks in Puma's tank lines and as his army continued to dwindle he had to gg.

TSL_Puma vs PoltPrime @ Xel'Naga Fortress

The faster expo by Puma gave him an important macro advantage that allowed him to stay 20 supply ahead almost throughout the entire series. After repelling Polt's drop play and winning an important battle at the center, Puma pushed in to do an elevation push, sieging at the production facilities of Polt. The GSL Super champion tried to go around for a base trade but Puma's marine split allowed him to defend perfectly and just like that TSL dominated over Prime with a 4-1.
