Pool C was another very equally matched group. Former GSL champion FruitDealer and the amazing MVP protoss Genius found themselves in the company of TOP and Virus, two very talented up-and-coming terrans.
The focal point of combat in the mid-game became the cliff between FruitDealer's gold and his main. TOP sieged at the low-ground and repeatedly elevated his marines to finally snipe the spawning pool. It took FruitDealer about five minutes to break out but by that time TOP was already setting up his gold.
With the counter-attack failing and his macro faltering, FruitDealer fell hugely behind in every aspect. When TOP launched his final push, the zerg was nearly 90 supply down with no chance at all to reach a state where he would win.

Genius opened with a quick dark shrine into expand but Virus cleverly read the build by scouting the timing of the nexus and was thus more than prepared for the DTs, blocking the ramp with his bio force and throwing down turrets at his expansion.
The first major battle happened at the 15-minute mark as both armies met at the center of the map. Genius came out strong and his chargelot/archon army brought Virus' bio force almost to an annihilation. Enjoying a 30-supply lead, Genius just moved down again, crushed terran's gold, threw down two manner nexuses at its place and won the game.

Seeing that TOP is going for 1-rax CC, Genius decided to go for the risky but highly effective 5-gate all-in. TOP scouted this move by spotting the excessive amount of sentries at Genius' ramp but he couldn't pump out enough units and bunkers to defend the enormous sentry/zealot army that stormed his front. After several forcefields at key locations, Genius broke through the bunker line and won the game.

One more 1-base play followed, this time by FruitDealer, who went for a roach rush. However, Virus scouted the timing of the very late expansion and prepared accordingly, throwing down a bunker and pulling off SCVs for repair. Seeing that there is no chance to break the wall, FruitDealer went for yet another hatchery in attempt to transition to a macro game.
But Virus would not allow that to happen as he moved out with his preigniter hellions, dealing excruciating pain to the zerg, killing more than 40 drones (actually reaching 70+ by the end of the game). Understandably, FruitDealer did not have the necessary economy to produce any tier 2 units and as Virus pushed with his monstrous mech army, the zerg gg-ed out.

Both terrans opened starport plus preigniter hellions into full mech with the most notable difference being their choice of fliers. Virus went for a banshee while TOP got a quick viking, the latter proving to be the way better choice as he managed to kill both the banshee and the follow-up attempt for preigniter drop.
The more dynamic action began when both players started harassing each other with hellions, continuously decreasing the saturation of the mineral lines.
The first big move was initiated by Virus who retook the center of the map from TOP and moved in to deny his third but at the same time the preigniter hellions of the oGs player was in Virus' main, reducing the SCV count to less than 20. With no economy and no option of pushing further to the other bases of TOP, Virus would soon surrender the game after losing several other critical engagements in the center.
