GomTV gathered the two GSL Super finalists Polt and MMA at a press event to hear their and their coaches' thoughts on the upcoming grand final.
Both players have a very different expectations for the finals. According to MLG champion MMA, he had already played his grand final at the Ro4, saying that "the final will be easier because MKP is better than Polt."
In contrast, Polt has just the opposite attitude, because "MMA is stronger than TOP" but despite this, the Prime terran is confident in his progressively improving play. He also hints that he was shown a new build by his team-mate MarineKing and is ready to show it at the final.
Of course, one cannot omit to ask the players what do they intend to do with the prize money and if this is their motivation to strive for victory. Once again, the two opponents give contrasting answers.
- "Even though the prize money is big I just want to win the championship as a pro-gamer. I have someone from SK Telecom (team) who have motivated me to win this final no matter what but I am not going to disclose more information on this until I actually hold the trophy in my hands", says the ace of Team Slayers.
- "Every time you play a match you have to win to take the prize money home. And it is true that money does concern me sometimes. However, once I make it to the studio and sit in that booth, the money disappears from my sight completely. And I just feel like I want to destroy the opponent in front of me. Right now defeating MMA is my only goal," are the words that came from the first time finalist Polt.
The signature and characteristic style of MMA, consisting of multi-pronged drops and hiding expansions is also being commented by both players. MMA says with confidence that 'even though people know that [he is] going to use that strategy in advance they don’t know how to defend against it." Polt confesses that he is weak against this type of play but points out that an all out war is also a crucial part for the victory.
