MLG Columbus 2011 has begun! And with the most awesome match to that, as IdrA went against two-times GSL champion MC to crush him 2-0.
MLG Columbus started with a game from Pool C with IdrA facing MC, his new opponent after Bomber could not get a visa to attend the event. Despite his bad record against Protoss, IdrA managed to secure a 2-0 victory over the oGs player.
Multi-pronged drop play won IdrA the first set on Metalopolis after defending the air pressure by MC. IdrA's multitasking and insane macro off of 7 hatcheries was relentless and put him ahead of the protoss. The second set on Xel'Naga Caverns began with MC hiding a three-zealot push but IdrA was patient enough to defend it and later used Roaches and Infestors to neural parasite the Immortals of MC and crush his Stalker-centric army.
In the post-match interview IdrA commented the games and his opponent, throwing in the witty remark that "Immortal/Roach is pretty good against Stalkers."
- "MC was by far my biggest fear, he is by far the best Protoss so I don't fear anything," says the top North American Zerg.
MLG's red stream continues Naniwa vs Moon while the blue will welcome TLO vs Losira.
