"Solely based on friendship" and "without a solidified partner" are descriptions that do not raise many expectations amongst the community. Over the last few months, several teams have announced their arrival in the professional scene, only to disband shortly afterwards. The most notable cases of recent times included magical Gaming, the new TeG, and ze Germans. However, various other teams such as GoD, GC and shift, have proved that independent projects are not bound to fail.
Yet to be seen is where diXi will align themselves, although a few factors, which may indicate a more promising future, can be taken into account. Their first period of activity lasted seven months, a surpassing the typical lifespan for a DotA team. Having started off in March 2010, diXi participated in all of the major online tournaments, achieved a third place finish at the EMS VI and got to fight teams such as LGD.sGty and Nirvana.my in the Razer Global Challenge. Shortly after that tournament was finished, the team split up, and some of the players moved on to form eyes.int.
