Serbian legends on DotA then and now

NORDIC E-Sport has recently conducted an interview with captain Cat and BigFill of VisaTM. Their personal DotA experiences and passions, let's get to know the players that make one of the finest DotA teams from Serbia in Balkan.

Hello you two, you are not the most known players in the DotA scene, however would you mind introducing yourselves as well as your team?
Cat: Heya, i'm Marko, 23 years old, studying at my 3rd year of university of Belgrade. I've played DotA for 9 years now, in previous teams some people might know: srs.razer, xeo.int, later known as tribal.int... and now currently part of visaTM, which is consisted of many friends, and from my experience in DotA I can tell you they're going to be the best players of Serbia when they reach certain experience. Fill joined us so now we're stronger than ever. :) Oh i forgot to mention I played for annie before, don't want annie boys to flame me later.
Bigfill: My name is Filip Trajkovic, born in Belgrade, Serbia. I'm 22 years old and, besides playing DotA, i enjoy music, DJ-ing, acting and basketball. I've been playing DotA for 7 or 8 years now. Played for clans such as DeuS, GM , srs.razer , XeoFrenezy - later known as tribal.int ... I'm studying European business and marketing, last year of studies, but i definitely want to produce music, next to everything else i do.

Would you mind introducing your teammates and their roles ingame?
Cat: We have 6 active players currently, alongside some friends who decided to stop playing, but we still hang out with them, go out and so on :), which makes this team great, so: shomy - semi-carry, ganker; andre - carry, sometimes support; fill - semi-carry, ganker; cr8ive - support, ganker; dominoz - support, ganker; me(Cat) - carry /All-around

Seeing as you consider yourselves as the best team in Serbia(Or the most rising team), are you partipicating in any tournaments such Argh League and Pick League?
Cat: Well currently, we are definitely the team that's developing the most right now in Serbia; since, besides me and fill, the rest don't have much experience and we try to play in all leagues, coz we have a great desire to improve, which is a basis for any team we are playing in DotA-league, balkan league, going to sign up for some new ones as well don't know where Flow went, he knows these things better than me :) oh, we recently signed up for that iN cup as well

Bigfill, you made a name for yourself about a year ago but then suddenly became absent, how come? And why did you decide to return to DotA?
I guess I've been 'making a name' for myself for the past 6 years but yes, last year I decided to travel to South Africa to try to 'make a name' for myself in the music industry as well :D I have been DJing all around Africa and i have to admit I got the response from the crowd I always wanted. I met a lot of new people and had a great life experience. But now I'm back, and taking the DotA scene by storm again!

Recently, there was quite a huge Serbia-Only LAN hosted, how is the DotA scene and level in Serbia?
Cat: Well speaking from all the tournaments I've been on, DotA teams in Serbia haven't ever been balanced this much, you have a lot of teams who can play on similar level and it's very hard to predict who will win, eSahara, visaTM, 25cm (newly formed), eu4ia, also don't know in which team are Greedy, Luci, XipeQ, they're also a great mix... I think all those teams owe a lot to Tribal.int, coz they've really pushed new faces into DotA. But as far as my knowledge goes for all teams in Serbia, we are definetely the most active, and the most improving team at the moment in Serbia.
Bigfill: To be honest im not really up-to-date with the Serbian dota scene since i only recently came back , but i have to admit that i definetly see potential in this team from my past expirience.. The most important thing for a team is the actual TEAM and we have that going since we are all friends and hang out and go out on a daily basis

Serbia is in the semi final of MYM Nations 3, going up against the strong Ukranians, how do you think your nation will perform?
Cat: well to be honest if someone told me before the tournament that we'll win against Sweden, Lebanon, and have a chance to even join the Grand final of winner brackets, I would take it for sure. Against Croatia we made 2 mistakes, one by morph when we lost two sides in game 1 and in 3rd game lost due to picks only. I'm glad that we won by experience against all the teams we played, and against Ukraine we'll have some replacements, Shomy will join the nation team and I'm sure he's more than ready to play in such high level of competitive DotA. Can't wait for the game coz I've never felt this confident to play against top nation teams. I'm positively surprised how good grizine played in all nation games, and adding Shomy would make the team even better. Fill didn't play though since he was in south africa for a long time, and he still needs to adapt to the style of the game that is currently being played, and after a while I'm sure that Serbia national team can be only better if they take even 3 or 4 players from VisaTM.

With your enormous list of feats, Cat, how do you feel about the changes made in DotA last few years?
Well I think that DotA is developing in right way, that teamplay, teamfights and support players are currently more important than farming and carrying a game, all these changes, like smoke, urn, stick, jango, pipe, force staff and so on help the game become more interesting, and develop more style than having 2-3 hard carry with 2 supports. That's what people want to see, aggressive DotA with perfect teamplay, we want to give that to the fans out there, and I'm happy that currently our strongest aspect is team fighting, rest is just practice and experience, and we don't lack practice, experience you get along the way. the important thing also is to have people who have been long active in a DotA scene, such as fill and me to pass that experience to the rest of the team, and I know that it's just a matter of time before we all reach the same level, we're all smart people and take criticism very seriously, and try to not repeat mistakes, and also we have a lot of talented players in games they've played before. Such as andre in ladder, shomy in CS, cr8ive in Quake3, DominoZ FIll and me play dota for a long time so it's just a matter of time really.

Bigfill, how did it feel coming back after a year break?
I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about playing DotA again, but as I arrived at the Belgrade airport, SilentCat and Dominoz were there to pick me up and we started talking about DotA of course and I decided to join their team. I have been along side SilentCat for many years and I would play with him in any clan what-so-ever. DotA to me looks pretty good now, various new items and tactics will improve this game a lot. I have to say though I'm not THAT happy about the hero choices in clan wars nowadays. I always enjoyed heroes like sand king, puck, enigma but they are nowhere to found in recent matches :D I guess we will have to work on that! It does feel good though , I'm happy to be back and I would just like to say Ngikukhumbulile kangaka! wicth means " I MISSED YOU A LOT" in the wonderful language of Zulu *Smiles*

Which team do you think is the strongest in Europe at the moment, and why? And which teams do you believe will come up on top in some months or in a year?
Cat: Well currently I think there are too many teams that you can mention to be on top, and a lot of teams who are trying to get there. if I had to pick the strongest team I'd choose GGnet, DTS, M5.Garaj, MYM, BP, in no specific order, since I know all of those teams can beat each other. Also there are a lot of newly formed teams, and I can't wait to see how they perform. For example A Team, even though a lot of people are sceptic about, I'm sure will do good, as long as they all stay active and practice. I can see ourselves out there, as well. :)

As for upcoming LANs such as ESWC, WDC and SMM, will VisaTM attend?
Flow4v: I would like to break in for that question, since I'm the one working very hard on getting sponsors to support us in this matter. I do think that we would do great in these major LAN tournaments, which is why I'm desperately trying to find the appropriate support. We are currently searching for serious sponsors who are able to spend time and effort into our team, as we do in practicing and gathering's

Thanks for your time, any final shoutouts?
Cat: Shoutout to all my friends, guys from my former teams, to Andre, Shomy, Cr8ive, DominoZ, Fill, to KM, my dad and everyone else who supports me in my daily endevours. Also thank you, Demonic, for your time. Any sponsor out there who might be interested, please feel free to contact our manager via [email protected].
Bigfill: Thanks for the interview, I would just like to give a HUGE shoutout to all the dota fans out there, be sure to watch and enjoy our gameplay ! Also to our team and manager and our great sponsors who have helped us throughout ! Oh wait .. Well anyway sizobonana!

We would like to wish VisaTM great luck in their search of a sponsor, and in the future tournaments!
