EnDs to represent Greece in the GosuCup - Team captain L1on talks

Despite the expected loss against Na`Vi in the final of qualifier 2, EnDs made a lot happen, last weekend. By beating the higher ranked GC and EARTH next to several other teams, Greece can be happy to send a reprentative to the GosuCup 3 Groupstage. We sat down with L1on after the final for a short interview.

Hello L1on; congratulations for qualifying. I dont recognise all players from your team, so please introduce them for us a little bit
-"We are all friends and play together for four years. Me and chaki are the supporters, marieths and victorakos are our solos and owner[ii] makes the carry. He plays solo once in a while as well, like victorakos and mariaths; myself and chaki are the determined supporters/gankers"

Since you know them for a long time; are you doing other stuff than DotA together as well, or is it just an internet friendship.
-"Four of us are playing from the same internet cafe, just marieths plays from another city; we are close friends. Other than DotA, we go out together for drinks or other staff like greek souvlaki (*laughs*)"

Aside from the final; how did you feel about the games, you played in the qualifier? Did you have an easy time?
-"The games were quite normal; we played for fun in the first place and didnt really expect to reach the finals. One game was really hard!"

You played awesome in the semi vs EARTH. Was this your hardest game apart from the final?
-"No, the hardest game was against GC, versus EARTH was another really nice game."

Which would you consider your best performance in the qualifier?
-"I think it was the one against earth"

That was a great game indeed; did you know you can play like that, or did you discover this for the first time yourself
-"We knew that we can play like this, that was just a good performance. We just dont play in many tournaments, just clan wars and some leagues."

Speaking of that, where are you guys playing exactly. Im pretty sure I have seen owner[ii] and victorakos in LDHL. Do all of you have vouchs?
-" For now only victorakos owner and me are in there; chaki and marieths are not vouched yet, but we were all playing at EEDL, DotA Pride and some other leagues"

Since when does EnDs exist; for the 4 years you have been playing together?
-"For about 1.5 - 2 years. before, we just werent playing in international leagues"

As you are in the groupstage now, will playing the top teams be something you look forward to, or are these just other games you play, climbing up the ladder.
-"We are looking forward to play with the top teams, trying to get better and will give our best "

How much time do you guys spend playing together per day and week; is the game a big part of your life?
-"We are not playing together as a team that much. Maybe 2-3 hours per week, because we can't play at the same time. Thats the only bad thing, but we play 2-3 hours per day seperately though."

You lost to Na`Vi in the final today. was there anything you could have done better, or are they just too good
-"Ofcourse we didnt do our best; it was just a bad game for us. We were copmletely outpicked, since we wanted to try something out. The time for the try was bad though (*laughs*)

How serious do you take DotA as a team? Do you analyze and talk about your games together or is it more learning by doig in EnDs?
"In the past, it really was learning by doing, but now we are taking it more seriously and started to analyze our games. We changed alot in that aspect."

Can you tell us a little bit more about the greek community? The most famous player there is probably ripper, but are there any tournaments, where many players meet up? Do you know other teams from your country personally?
-"We know all the teams from our country. In greece there are a lot of 3v3 LAN tournaments, where all the greek teams gather. There is also a greek league similar to LDHL; a bit lower in the level for all good greek players."

Would you consider DotA as the most popular esports in your country, or have commercial games still more influence?
-"Just Counterstrike 1.6 is as popular as DotA in Greece, but we are up there."

-"Thank you very much for the interview we are looking forward to play the groupstage."
