GSL 3 champion outplayed by TOP

The Kaspersky New Year's StarCraft 2 Invitational found its end yesterday, seeing foreigner Ret in the top 3, while GSL Season 3 winner MC was literally outplayed by his Korean opponent TOP in the grand final.

TOP from team oGs took home the prize money of $800, when defeating his countryman MC, winner of the Global StarCraft 2 League's third season, in the grand final respectively by a score of 4:0. For the second place, MC earns $400. Third on the winner's podium was the Dutchman Ret, who beat Zenio 2:1, preventing an all Korean triumph. Ret therefore gets $200, while Zenio can call another $100 his own.

Strelok, Sjow, MaNa and Naama, coming out first in their groups in the all European preliminaries, each grabbing one of the four spots available for the imminent tournament, all lost in the first round. Still, they will receive a prize money of $50. The Koreans and Ret were directly invited by the organization.

Over three days, these players battled it out in an 8-man tournament, that included prize money of $1,700.
