The Loremaster changes in Cataclysm
A lot of people have been wondering whether The Loremaster achievement will remain in the expansion. Blizzard has now finalized their answer to the community.
Blizzard has announced that "The Loremaster"-achievement and title will remain in-game in Cataclysm with a few slight changes.
Since the continents of Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms will be altered permanently by the shattering of Azeroth, with new questlines and new zones as well as some original quests will no longer be available. Blizzard has decided that these quests will be automatically removed from the quest log.
If you have already completed Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and Loremaster of Kalimdor, you have nothing to worry about. The acheivements will not be lost. If you have made progress towards these achievements but not yet completed them and still wish to do so, Blizzard encourages the players to finish them off as soon as possible before Deathwing's return.
The Loremaster achievements have been redesigned so they are easier to track. Instead of having players completing huge amount of quests in a whole continent, the criteria has been changed to fit more along the lines of the current Loremaster of Northrend achievement, where you have to complete a specific amount of quests in each area. Once you have earned the achievements for each zone on a continent you will be awarded with the Loremaster achievement for that continent.
Those of you who have already completed the Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms achievement can still go back and get the new achievements for questing in the new zones of those two continents.
