IEM Europe, Qualification Round 1: Tonight

The IEM European Qualification Round 1 will be held tonight as 24 players will battle it out to advance to the Qualification Round 2.

Starting at 19:00 CET on September 23rd 2010, nine matches will kick off the first qualification round of the IEM European Championships. Players range from those who finished at the top of their national qualifiers to those who did not finish high enough to gain a seed into the European Championships.

A total of 12 players have already qualified for the European Championships, while 36 players have been left to duke it out for the remaining 12 spots. Many well known players such as White-Ra, DeMusliM, and SjoW have been forced to battle through the qualification rounds to reach the finals.

Qualification Round 2 has been scheduled for October 7th 2010, two weeks after the finish of Qualification Round 1. The final stage of the IEM Euro Championships will take place in 2011 with the final 24 players playing in an offline event.
