While Sweden and Germany were given five participation slots, other countries such as Greece and Norway were only given one.
Each player have been placed in a qualification round, based on each player's placement in the national cups.
For the first qualification round, we have Jeffrey "SjoW" Brusi, Johan "Naniwa" Luchessi, Jacob "NTT" Scarn and Krystopf "Draco" Nalepka to mention a few. Last chance cup winner Dennis "HasuObs" Schneider is also in this first pool of players.
Former FnaticMSI player James "Moutas" Moutafidis is locked against well-known former WarCraft 3 Finnish player Tuomas "Sein" Lahtinen which is set to be one of the most interesting matches for this round.
Johan "Naniwa" Luchessi's match against the Swiss player Andreas "WuLvEraTe" Brunner will be another interesting match. Both players hail from the WarCraft 3 world, with WuLvEraTe being the premiere Warcraft 3 player in Switzerland and Naniwa having showed recent success in StarCraft 2 after his mediocer career in WarCraft 3.
Matches are set to kick off inbetween September 20 - 26.
