While "The Devil's Playground" brought the hearts and minds of many SC2 single-player campaign believers to eruption, Blizzard now released the new multiplayer map "Burning Tide" following in the footsteps of the perilous, lava-ridden race of mineral gluttony.
Similar to the single-player campaign mission "The Devil's Playground", a team must collect a certain amount of minerals to win the game. However, necessary mining on low grounds is constantly threatened by timed lava surges burning everything on its path to ashes. Hence, each teams has to work closely together, managing unit production to defend against intruders and continue to groom the team's own economy to claim victory.
Players can be excited to lock horns with another on this map, where usual strategic advantages can be diminished in seconds by the ocean of smoldering magma flowing through this fiery cauldron. Due to this map style, the terrain will greatly affect all players if gathering resources, facilitating unit production or attacking enemy forces, so it offers a great vacation from the usual 3v3 multiplayer-melee matches. Blizzard released "Burning Tide" Wednesday for players to engage other space-travelling forces on this intergalactic battlefield.
