American Championship holds a $12,400 prize pool for StarCraft 2

The prize pool of $59,600 is divided to three games; Quake, Counterstrike and StarCraft 2 on the Intel Extreme Masters American Championship, leaving StarCraft 2 with $12,400.

The event will be held in New York City in early October with a StarCraft 2, Quake and a Counterstrike tournament, with a total prize pool of $59,600. The Counterstrike tournament will have $36,800 of them, Quake $10,400 and finally $12,400 for the StarCraft 2 tournament.

The newcomer Silver and Canadian HuK have both already qualified to the American Championship along with QXC and ThisIsJimmy through the first qualification cup, as the top four players qualify.

The top players of the American Championship will in addition to winning a great amount of money also advance to the IEM World Championship which holds the astonishing prize pool of $400,000 split among the games.
